Carla is an announcer who works for the BBC. She is energetic and lots of people would like to contribute articles to her program. Then, she will read all those stories in a gentle voice. Every year she can receive the awards from the company for her program has won millions of listeners. She is always admired by her workmates and her boss also thinks highly of her. She deserves to be called “excellent”.
Yesterday, the day before Valentine’s Day, she read a sad love story. Many years ago, on the day before Valentine’s Day, a boy and a girl were having fun with the midnight, that sounded romantic, right? Suddenly, with a strong wind, the girl’s ball fell into the sea. The boy told her that he would get the ball back and return in a minute. However, he didn’t keep his word. He drowned at sea and never came back.
It was obvious that Carla burst into tears. But soon, she wiped all her tears and apologized to the listeners. After another story, her program ended.
At midnight, a girl turned up in front of a tomb. That was Carla. She cleaned the grave and lighted an incense in memory of her boyfriend, also her fiancé, who was drowned many years ago.
